Our Mission
Founded in 2026 by Tiphaine Leverne and Jeremy Bosch—an artist and adventurer couple who have turned their passion for exploring the world and the ocean into a lifelong commitment and a way of life—the Ocean Archive Expedition (OAE) is dedicated to creating an environmental, visual, and acoustic archive of coastlines and oceans. In this way, the OAE contributes to open science through data collection and engagement in citizen science programs.
Starting in the spring of 2027, the OAE will launch its mission to raise awareness about ocean conservation among young people and the general public by sharing the knowledge gained from the maritime expedition through cultural, educational, and artistic means.

Tiphaine grew up near the sea and sailed regularly in Brittany. The Iroise Sea—from the Bay of Brest to the Molène Archipelago—quickly became her favorite playground, honing her sense of navigation and her thirst for adventure from an early age. Combined with an artistic practice that she developed through higher education, her relationship with the sea became both a way of life and a form of expression.
Jeremy Bosch

Ever since his school days, Jeremy has been dreaming of adventure and tracing the outline of the world map hanging at the back of the classroom. His first boat, GUM—“the kayak corvette,” according to the salesman—would become the tender for his second boat, DOCAT, a 31-foot liveaboard sailboat. A few thousand miles later, a new boat for a new project in new latitudes. It was time to put his artistic practice at the service of science.
After seven years of living and sailing aboard DOCAT, their previous sailboat, they are now preparing NIA, the Ocean Archive Expedition’s sailboat. It is in Brittany, at the northern tip of Finistère, that this vessel is gradually becoming a versatile platform for film and science.

Tiphaine came across this little ball of fur wandering in the depths of winter - alone, just 2 months old, at -14°C in the snowy mountains of Armenia.
He quickly set sail on a voyage across the Mediterranean to Brittany, where he became a young sea dog. The beach became his playground, and the dolphins his friends.
*Truffle’s Superpowers: He already knows the fish is going to bite the hook even before the trolling line starts to run out. He’s the boat’s second barometer, sensing a storm on the horizon.
