The Patago 39 is an all-aluminum dinghy designed by naval architect Jean-François André. Built to sail in all latitudes, its shallow draft, sturdiness, and range make it particularly well-suited for exploring coastlines and remote areas. For OAE, the NIA serves as a mobile observation and data-collection platform: an onboard scientific laboratory and production studio capable of documenting the environments it traverses through images, sound, and environmental data. Primarily wind-powered and designed to operate with a high degree of autonomy, it allows for operations with the smallest possible environmental footprint.
